Facing East at Pemaquid Point

From a late September trip to Maine

Vacation was late this year, and the end of September was the perfect time to return to Maine after a 20 year absence. Why did I wait so long to come back to such a beautiful place?

This painting is taken from the breathtaking view of the rocky coastline in Bristol by the lighthouse. These are postcard-perfect scenes that painters and photographers have been documenting for a long time, and I’ll admit that I have fallen prey to the beauty of the Maine seascape too. There should be several more paintings to follow, from the spectacular sunsets at Boothbay Harbor, to inland views from Damariscotta and the waterfront at Portland. All good stuff to work with.

  3. Inspiration for me to see your work. The study of it might improve my efforts…most of all it is a pleasure to have it to on my screen.
