thank you! I am inspired by your title and your blog. It’s sometimes a fight to get the time to paint every day and it’s so nice when I can!
Oh, thank you, Joy, but I am so new at this. I can’t paint every day (hopefully I’d be a better painter if I could), but I do try to at least sketch something every day. Art has taken me completely by surprise as a new empty-nester, and it’s something I’m driven to do. I couldn’t stop if I wanted to now (unless I wanted to be miserable).
I appreciate you following me. I look at the work of artists like you and wonder if I’ll ever get there. To me, this is the ideal. It’s what I’m shooting for. I thank you for taking the time to share, and inspire the rest of us. I’m afraid to ask how long it took you to reach this level! I hope I can make it *puff puff*! It may not be in the cards, but I have a long, strong stubborn streak.
Aren’t we all a work in progress? I like to spend at least one day a week looking at other artist work, old and new, thru galleries, museums or internet. And then I don’t worry too much (ha, an exaggeration) if a painting doesn’t turn out quite how I hoped. I might spend time just playing with paint and paper to discover some new technique. Just surfing the web you can find sites that demonstrate techniques that I’ve found helpful. Taking a class–even one afternoon–in drawing helps so much too. Mostly, I want to enjoy the time and get engrossed in it.
