Chilies and Garlic

A bit of Chiaroscuro for Halloween

Nothing scary about this, just fell in love with these small peppers at Whole Foods the other day and wanted to work them into something (other than a recipe). In between handing out candy to hordes of Spidermen, Ironmen, Batmen, Dorothies, Princesses, Ninjas and Airline Attendents (aka stewardesses), I progressively got the dark tones rich enough and worked on the wood texture. A fun late-day painting—especially enjoyed painting the reflections on the wood surface.
