Plein Air at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Permission to leave out the details

IMG_1058A Plein Air work done over my birthday weekend. Sol requested that I add in the American flag at the top of the Bridge, so I did. A blimp came in to my view while painting and I included it too.

One of the things I love about painting with watercolors is the need to simplify shapes and details. It works well with my 59-year-old eyesight. Still quite good, with excellent optical correction, but nonetheless, I paint what I see and that leaves out a lot of details sometimes.
