Caladium on the Deck

Use the good stuff!

I learned about the use of good watercolor paper with this painting. The Strathmore paper just didn’t cut it…the paint never took well and it was difficult to work with but I did develop some painting techniques to make this work. I fell in love with this beautiful orange pepper and wanted to include it for color and interest. The light on it was fun to paint, as well as all the patterns in the leaves, the chair, and especially the deck.
